Claire Casey
Senior Vice President
Claire Casey is Senior Vice President at Garten Rothkopf. In this capacity, Ms. Casey manages the Energy Choice and Climate Change practices; assisting investors, major multinational corporations, governments and international institutions to navigate rapidly changing energy markets. Having joined Garten Rothkopf at its inception, Ms. Casey previously directed the research associated with Garten Rothkopf’s publication “A Blueprint for Green Energy in the Americas,” praised by Foreign Affairs magazine as a “priceless must read” which “masterfully amasses the most extensive survey of the ethanol and biodiesel markets available today.” Ms. Casey is a specialist in Latin America and the Caribbean, with extensive experience living and working in the region. Prior to joining Garten Rothkopf, she held positions at Unilever Bestfoods and at a Washington, DC-based NGO. Ms. Casey holds a Masters Degree in International Relations and International Economics from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelors Degree in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College. Ms. Casey is based in Garten Rothkopf's Washington, DC offices.
Allison Carlson
Vice President, Green Technology and Fuels
Allison Carlson is Vice President of Green Technology and Fuels at Garten Rothkopf. Reporting to Ms. Casey, Ms. Carlson manages the firm’s green fuels team, which identifies and analyzes emerging trends in fuels markets worldwide, conducts market analysis as well as identifies and evaluates strategic opportunities for private sector investment in green fuels. Prior to joining Garten Rothkopf, Ms. Carlson worked with an international consulting company assisting European companies to invest in the Latin American and Eastern European energy and financial sectors. She received her Master's Degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Relations and International Economics with additional concentrations in International Law and International Negotiations. Ms. Carlson is based in Garten Rothkopf's New York offices.
John Juech
Vice President, Policy Analysis
John Juech is Vice President of Policy Analysis at Garten Rothkopf, leading the firm’s research efforts on wide range of energy, climate, and related policy matters. Prior to Garten Rothkopf, he served as senior legislative assistant in the office of Congressman William Delahunt of Massachusetts (D-MA 10). Mr. Juech was an adviser to Congressman Delahunt on energy, environment, economic affairs, appropriations, trade, transportation and other matters. Before working for Congressman Delahunt, Mr. Juech was employed by the UN, where he helped to organize the first set of democratic post-war elections in Liberia, West Africa, in 2005. He also completed a fellowship with the UN war crimes tribunal in Sierra Leone. He has travelled to roughly 50 countries internationally. John studied for a Masters degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), concentrating on international economics and international development, and a BA from the Colorado College, where he graduated with honors in political science. He is based in Garten Rothkopf’s Washington, DC offices.
Theodore Chestnut
Vice President, Business Development
Theodore Chestnut is Vice President of Business Development at Garten Rothkopf. He also serves as Director of the Energy & Climate Leadership Council. In these capacities, Mr. Chestnut is responsible for the development of research, analysis, and advisory services that meet the specific needs of Garten Rothkopf’s broad and growing client base. Prior to joining Garten Rothkopf he co-directed the efforts of an entrepreneurial investment fund exploring opportunities in green business-to-business media. He also provided consulting to senior human resource executives as an analyst with the Corporate Executive Board. Mr. Chestnut received a BA in government from Harvard College. He is based in Garten Rothkopf’s Washington, DC offices.
